Student organizations

So I just moved to a college with a town in it and don't really know anyone. My roommates are graduates working for the university so I'm trying to meet some younger people. I figured student organizations were the way to go, but after looking at the list not much interested me.

There is the Alpine club but they do rock climbing as opposed to hiking. Going straight up a rock never really appealed to me.

Young Democrats.. I don't even think I am a Democrat, just anti-Republican. But from the pics I noticed every girl in this group is at least a 7.

Sailing Club.. the most appealing but the next event listed isn't until the summer. I don't see what they'd do now that it is below freezing.

If I can't find a student organization am I hopeless? Most of the other ones are crap like Medieval Re-enactment, minority clubs, or academic-specific clubs. There are a few community service ones but the only one that has information on it seems like they've run out of ideas because all of their events are at the nursing home.

wow, that kinda sux, do you go to a small college or what? Where I go there are way more clubs that I would like to join than I have time for. I guess you might as well go try some of them out, they might end up being alot funner than they sound. Also, club sports teams are a good deal too, you meet people and get in shape at the same time.

WSU, it isn't small. But the unversity website sucks because the sailing club isn't listed, but I googled it and it has a university address. So I wonder how many other clubs they didn't list there. Also, a lot of links pertaining to club information are broken. Bah

grab a lawnchair and a cooler full of beer and sit out on your front porch. they will attract like moths to a flame.
