Not sure why you're not whining about some of the rules that private schools in the US have.

This. Follow the dress code/grooming standards. Any school is within their rights to do this. These aren't adults.

Incorruptible would be suprised to find that not only do schools have grooming standards..but jobs too. I worked at a job where you weren't allowed to have a beard, dreds, or wild hair coloring. The hair coloring rule included highlights and streaks.
