Hello. I'm in a PC Hardware class in college. We don't really get taught anything. She takes attendance and tells us to leave. So all work is done online. We have a lab and I have no idea where to find the answers. I've been trying for over a week. I'm requesting help. I don't expect you to answer it. I just need help with the terms and where to find the information.

My computer is a HP Stream. Model # 14-cb113wm
I think the information that I have is correct, but I am unsure. I have no one else that I can ask for help.

Tell me any useful information about the motherboard.
-Brand: HP
-CPU Socket type: Intel Celeron N4000
-Type of RAM it uses: SDRAM DDR4
-How many RAM slots available:
-How many drive interfaces
-Types of drive interfaces

Give me the information related to your processor.
-CPU brand
-Socket
-Frequency (speed [GHz]): 1.1 GHz base frequency, up to 2.6 GHz burst frequency
-Number of cores: 2

Tell me about the memory (RAM).
-Type (DDR, DDR2, DDR3): DDR4
-Frequency (MHz)
-Capacity (GB)

Tell me about the Power Supply
-Wattage: 45 W
-Power Interface for the motherboard
-Number of Pins
-Power Interface for the CPU
-Number of Pins
-Number of rails

Why wasn't college that easy when I went? I had electronics, calc, and system programming in C.

Sure that this isn't a Jr. High course in "build your own gaming rig?" (That should be a shop class in well-to-do communities.) Along with basic Home Econ. and Finance (not bookkeeping).

Anyways, if you're a "greenhorn" (cowboy term for n00b), in PC/computer-land, maybe start with some "History of the PC" sites, and look at older articles from TomsHardware and the main site here, www.anandtech.com (not the forum site, the web site).

BTW, we don't do "homework" on this site (policy), but I'm pretty sure some generic sort of "backgrounder" questions would be answered, eventually.

Have you looked up the HP Stream whatever model page for your laptop, and clicked on "Specifications"? That's where you would find that info.

I just need help on where to find the information. And what the pins and rails and stuff are. I'm completely new to all of this. I don't want anyone to do my homework. I just need help with the terms and what they actually are.
