Student Loans:

How much have you racked up? How much do you pay per month? How long do you have to pay it off?

Trying to get an idea on this because I'm financing school with Stafford loans (subsidized and un-subsidized) and want to know what to expect when I'm done. It's a private school and tuition is.... well, not cheap. I don't even wanna know what I've borrowed so far 🙁

Also, if you go straight to graduate school, do you have to start paying back your undergraduate loans or do they all roll into the graduate loans?

I hope I get some of those scholarships I've applied for 😱

I used Stafford Loans subsidized.

Came out of college with a 3.25% interest rate, it jumped though 🙁
Just get a good job and you will pay it off slowly.

Working full time and going to school full time does suck, but it beats being in debt.

That's the thing... I do work fulltime and I still can't afford it.

Over 20K and it did take me a few years. I could have pay them off sooner but I didn't learn to control my spending habbits until much later. And whatever you do, don't visist the Hot Deals forums. 😀

I get about $6-8k per year of sub/unsub loans, and its my 2nd year at university. Going to community college and living at home for the first year was like $1200 a semester plus a couple books and a wise idea. Still, its not like you can really finish a 4yr degree in 4yrs, plus I don't necessarily want to, so I think I'll have 3.5 years of loans so somewhere around $25k at the end of it as long as I don't get the crazy idea to goto grad school...

Private school here too. Mine will be around $35k after 4 years. I'd rather not work full time and go to school full time and have no free time. I hardly have any free time the way it is. I just plan on having a bigger loan and pay it off after I graduate when I'm making way more money that I make now.

$0 for undergrad, but about $52K for law school. Hoping to be working full-time by the time my loans start to be due in December.

The credit line I built up through student loans made it extremely simple to get a mortgage at a great interest rate.

Took out students loans for a total of 4 years at just under $20k total. Currently pay double the monthly payment to pay them off.

Is that total or per semester. My bro will owe 200,000 once he finishes med school :Q
