Student loans question

dxkj

Lifer
If my wife and I consolidate our student loans, and then one of us goes back to school, will they be put on hold? I know if we didnt consolidate them, then whoever went back to school would have everything put on hold, but Im not sure in this instance.

Thanks in advance.

PS Yes, I called the fin aid dept a few times but no one is answering.

I'm not positive, but I'm pretty sure you don't have to make payments, but interest will keep acruing.

As far as what would happen if you don't consolidate, it's a matter of the loan type. Subsidized Stafford would stop acruing interest, but with un-subsidized, it would keep acruing.
