Student Loan Consolidation Question

My fiance is consolidating her loans....she did the paperwork about a month ago, and still no word on what her payment, etc. are going to be. She said they told her it would take 30 to 60 days to process.

Does that seem odd to anyone else?

It takes 30 - 60 days for the paper work to be finished after approval, but stuff like monthly payments should have been given to her once she was apporved.

nope...I did mine online, and they still said it would take that long, but I have a 6 mo grace period, so no problems here....

i just did this it does not take that long, in fact the ending date was june 30th so they should have a scheduled date to process her loan consolidation information, i did mine 3 weeks ago (online) salliemae.com... and on july 8th finally saw my account updated online with the consolidation information and lower interest, i suggest you call the lender and find out whats up.. if she filled out the forms they're probably just taking time to do it and have a scheduled date when it will be done for her.

thats what i would have thought, but they have yet to give her rates or payments...

Didn't happen to me and I went through the DLS.

I got my paperwork stating that I had been approved in about 10 business days, though. It stated that everything would be finished up assuming that I didn't find any mistakes in the form they sent me to lookover.
