Student being expelled and being locked up for climbing on roof

KYW radio announced earlier that they evacuated the school, called in the bomb squad and dogs. The student is having terrorist charges pressed.... whole 9 yards.... what a shame....

The 18-year-old Pattison - a National Merit semifinalist with no school disciplinary record - was charged with reckless endangerment, disorderly conduct, resisting arrest and criminal trespass.

He told police he donned a gorilla mask and gloves and climbed up to the cafeteria roof Tuesday morning in order to peer down into classroom windows

Horay, one less Terrist

I miss common sense (directed at the school, police, etc, not the student who should get detention for 2 weeks like in the good old days)

I have no sympathy for idiots such as him. What exactly did he think he could accomplish doing this? Where does it say terrorist charges?

The prank was foiled when school staff saw someone donning the mask in the parking lot and scaling a wall and called authorities, who sent officers, a state police helicopter and a bomb squad.

According to police, Pattison said he wore the disguise and covered his license plate in the school parking lot so he could not be identified on school surveillance cameras.

Why exactly did he want to peer down into classroom windows? What a wierdo.

Yeah that's real brilliant!

He put on a mask and pulled a prank. Boo.

Just because schools tend to overreact about everything nowadays doesn't mean that what he did was any worse than it sounds. They overreacted, plain and simple. That's on them, not on him.

And if it had been a real crisis, and the schools didn't take that precaution and someone got hurt, we're talking about major lawsuits. I agree they overreacted, but they have to.

If they don't over react and something did happen, next thing you know, sue, sue, sue.... 🙂

BTW, I think the guy is an idiot for pulling a stun like that.

I think that tells you more about the sorry state of our legal system than about what he did.

Yep, but you can't blame the schools for covering their tales. Blame sue-happy US citizens.

Man, that's awesome. I wish I would've been there to tape it.

The closest I've come to pulling a prank like that was putting a condom box and a cigar box in this girl's backpack. She's really nice and all the teachers that have had her think she's one of the best students ever. It was funny, but didn't go through successfully because the teacher didn't tell me that she was pulling the distraction tactic so soon. Oh well.

wow. Just wow.
I wonder what that school would have done to my calculus students 2 weeks ago...

They wired the doorknob of my classroom up to about 40,000 volts as a practical joke.
It got a laugh out of me... and I learned to come back from lunch earlier (or to lock my door!)

I think they just shouldn't have let him walk the line.

The school reacted as it should had, it's responsible for kids inside, how was the school supposed to know it was just a senior prank (btw 7,000 minnows in the school pool was our prank 😀)

They didn't die? How'd they survive the chlorine??

Oh they died. But most survived long enough for people to take notice in the morning.

btw minnows were placed in the pool around 4am I believe.
