My FIC AU11 died, and in the meantime I had to reinstall my old K7S5A w/2500+.

Using the Honey O/C bios, my bus is @ 150/150. I can't get any higher than that in bios without a lock (ram is DDR 3200).

I downloaded SpeedFan but when I try to set a faster bus I get a lock as well. 1.65GHz is better than nothing, but I should be able to get more. Any ideas?

You're doing pretty well, given that the board has a 133 MHz chipset and a RAM bus layout that isn't too well suited for high frequencies. Its four DIMM slots plus the long traces required to get to those four slots are electrically somewhat limiting.

Still fairly zippy, even though I'm much slower than I was before.

Still, I guess it's time for a better motherboard. The AU11 was OK, but not being able to do stable 200 was a bummer.

I'm tempted to wait for the next round.

Go back to the lastest stock BIOS, and give speedfan another try. The memory timings on Honey X are way too tight, and K7S5A's are notoriously picky about ram. I run 2 different K7S5A v1.0 both at 166/166 with out any issues, and ones a barton.

I will try that. I think if I can run 166/166 I won't be so eager to upgrade again so fast.

I did like 187/187 better tho.

Edit- Oh nice. After reinstalling XP, I flashed to an older BIOS and now it refuses to load, even at lower speeds. Weee. How fun.
