Stuck In Poke646

I am in the sewers, I have killed the acid spitting "dog" and opened the gate underwater. Killed big fish and swam to otherside. Killed spawing alien and can't get into room on otherside. The gate is blocked by 2 boxes. I can activate the lever thru the fence and open the steel door that is on the otherside. I have also gone through the section where the steam pipe bursts and crawled thru the ducts to drop back into the main part of the sewer. What'd I miss?

Throw a grenade over the fence to break the boxes and you should be able to open the gate.

I've thrown them up to the fence but not over, I'll go try, thanks.
