Stuck for solutions. Need input on new system.

I've recently picked up the following:

*GIGABYTE GA-MA78GPM-DS2H AM2+/AM2 AMD 780G HDMI Micro ATX AMD Motherboard
*AMD Athlon X2 BE-2400 Brisbane 2.3GHz Socket AM2 Dual-Core Processor
*CORSAIR 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory Model TWIN2X4096-6400C5
*Seagate Baracuda 7200.11 1TB Hard Drive

I'm going to use this as a HTPC. I'm intalling Vista Home Premium and this thing is taking forever; well into an hour. Any suggestions?

No, not my first build. Maybe build....hmmm....200 something. I'd love for it to finish the install, but at what point does one say, "something is wrong" when it takes the "cleaning up files" stage (e.g., the last stage) takes over 30 minutes. I have another box with similar specs and that process takes all of a minute or so.
