My nvidia nforce 430 takes a while to kick in. When ever I start playing a game, it jumps around but after 2 minutes its fine. This sucks when playing anything online. Anyone have any idea of what might be casueing this???

Thanks

Jack

I think firefox messed up the poll for me 🙁

Usually hardware doesn't dawdle - it either works in a reasonable time or it doesn't work at all. A 2 minute delay is suspiciously pointing to software. The drivers might be in some indefinite loop and a timeout causes it to break out of the loop. Try updating the mobo chipset drivers; then reinstall directx.

I'm guessing that what your experiencing is memory latency. That 430 is on onboard integrated video card that shares system memory right? That delay you are experiencing is probally all of the textures getting loaded into your slow desktop ddr/ddr2 memory. Once the textures get loaded it's fine after that.

A dedicated video card with really fast, low latency dedicated ddr3/ddr4 ram will destroy any onboard integrated graphics system.
