Need to put new struts on the front of the wife's old Escape. Is there any reason not to install cheap struts? She drives about 6000 miles a year, and we'll most likely be replacing it in 2 years. I don't see spending $160 each for the ones with the fancy paint job, but I'll sure listen to any advice you fellows have for me.

For the love of all holy do NOT get cheap struts. Even if selling as they will not last very long and may be not much better than what's on there now.

What year is her escape? KYB struts you can get for less than $70 plus shipping. KYB all in one strut kit (just bolt up system) are less than $140 plus shipping.

I ordered the all in one kits so I wouldn't have to screw with the springs. They are Sensen struts. Reviews seemed to be ok. Hopefully I didn't just waste $165.

 I second this. I put KYB struts on my Maxima and they were excellent and not very expensive either.

Don’t let the name droppers here dissuade you from getting a cheap costing pair of struts.

Sensen even though made in China comes with a lifetime warranty and is about half the price of Monroe or KYB. Oh, BTW, Monroe (standard line) is also made in China, and KYB has their manufacturing in both Japan and US.

Sensen is an OE supplier for Volvo, Audi and Volkswagen. They have been manufacturing shocks and struts since 1985.

If I had a Ford Escape, and wanted to get by for a few years I would certainly put Sensen struts on my car.

Good luck with your vehicle and let us know how the struts are doing.

The only thing they OE supply are for the shitty economy cars sold in China. I guess you left that part off for a reason? None of them use Sensen outside of china for any car worth a dam. Theres a reason for that.
