Stripping Paint off a Window

Like the title says, I am stripping 4 layers of paint off my bathroom window. It needs it, the paint is pealing a bit, and going for a total different look on the window.

I am using a heat gun, which works great, works just fine on removing all those layers of paint. I ran across an old painted over curtain brackett. A small one, that someone a long time ago, just painted over. I had to get that off. Cleaned out the screw heads, no dice on just unscrewing the screws. Which I knew anyway. They were in there very tight. Not wanting to screw up the molding. "What is a girl to do?"

I wondered if my heat gun would loosen the screws. So, put the heat on the brackett for just a minute, and tried it, they instantly started to unscrew! That worked! I was happy.
Saved the molding, and further frustration of trying to get that brackett off. I have 2 more to go.

Not sure if I heard that somewhere a long time ago, I don't remember. I was just glad it worked, and I can continue with my window. :) So if anyone has a similiar problem, to what I have, and has a heat gun, try it! It worked for me.

Never heard of using a heat gun to remove paint.
I just go for the stripper in a jug.

When I can, I go for the heat gun. It gets very hot, have to be careful using it. It is fun to watch the paint bubble up. Yes even with 4 layers of paint, it will bubble with a heat gun.

Less of a mess, with the heat gun too. That is a winning factor for me, no chemicals. Again, when I can use it.

You can use heat gun to remove paint and wallpaper. As for the paint on the window, just use a razor blade or paint scraper.

Too many layers to solely use a razor and scraper. I tried that. This is speeding up the process, I am still using the scraper, you have to.
