I had this happen to a laptop that I had sent in for warranty repair. As a side note, never buy a garbage warranty from Newegg. I forget which ASUS laptop it was, but it was some thin-and-light model that had a known issue with its SSD malfunctioning due to heat. So, whenever you stressed the laptop, it would BSOD. The warranty people said there was no problem with it, and they just shipped it back to me (they left it on during shipping too). What made matters worse is that after receiving the laptop, I took the bottom off to find the SSD's screw stripped and completely unusable. However, I fixed it in a rather weird way...

I put some tape around the screw to protect the surrounding area, and cut a slot into the screw using a dremel. After that, I was able to easily use a flat-head screwdriver to remove the screw, and I just replaced it with a new screw.

Oh, and of course, after I replaced the SSD with one that wasn't awful, the laptop worked absolutely fine!

Nope. MC on a Sunday is extremely busy and I was just wanting to get out of there. I'm guessing they used the method @Aikouka described above. I would be fine doing that on my personal laptop but since this was a work device I said screw it and paid someone to get it out.
