I'm having problems with my mobo, something is fishy with my USB, particularly with my usb mouse. When I boot up, my mouse (copperhead razr) is "dead", and I need to unplug-replug but into a different usb port for it to be recognized.
I've also been BSODing on reboot. I was finally able to read one, since they usually flash then quicky go away. The most recent one said my BIOS was not fully ACPI capable... which I find hard to believe.
So, I'm searching the new BIOSes and I see the beta:
Striker Extreme beta BIOS 0802
1. Enhance memory compatibility
2. Fixed power Fan can't work after S3.
3. Set DDR2 Termination Max default Votlage to 1.25V (Memory Voltage is 2.5V)
4. Add patch to support Creative X-FI sound Card
5. Speed up S3 resume time.
6. Change CopyRight year from 2006 to 2007.
7. Fixed memory clock mode option may disappear when SLI ready memory is used.
Which addresses a lot of my possible issues, since I'm using SLI (EPP) memory as well as X-FI. My question is, how "safe" is a beta bios? I never feel safe flashing my bios, but the asus tool makes it pretty simple. Anyone have any issues with this beta?
