42" is too small...had one and it died (not panasonic, it was an LG, f0cker!)

Now we have a 50". MUCH better but that isn't that big either. Well it is big but the 65" is HUGE 😀

how far away do you sit?

We have a small apartment and sit about 8" away from our 42" Panasonic. The size is just right for our room, IMO.

Make sure you properly break-in your plasma when you first get it. I've posted it 1000 times here, but this white paper explains the break-in process that will maximize the life of your TV.

ok, well, i went to CC and BB... To be honest, i really preferred the brightness of the Sony LCD's... Both the 46" 720p Sony LCD and the beautiful 40" 1080p Sony LCD were really amazing... Seeing them side by side with the Plasmas was a world of difference, i literally said WOW out loud....

Hmmmmmm

So, the DLP is problematic?

I'm looking into upgrading to an HDTV and was seriously considering the DLP format...

For me, yes. I'm just sick of having the TV down for a week everytime i blow a bulb. Just not worth the hassle for me anymore.

#4 in slightly over 1 year is on its way here right now...

I just bought a 50" Samsung DLP set this week from Circuit City and it looks freaking incredible in HD. I'm actually amazed at how good it looks here at home...much better than it did in the store. They have some great deals right now. Definitely a good time to buy into HD IMO.

I almost bought a Mitsubishi 65" 1080p DLP and I'm glad I didn't. Our viewing distance is about 8-10 feet and 50" is perfect for that. A 56" might work but nothing larger.

Of course if we re-arranged our living room, we could probably accomodate a 65" hmmn

Toshiba had a problem with the 05 DLP's, they claim it was supposed to only effect the original bulb... well, i guess not in my case...

Is 1080p at 10ft worth it at that size? Would i even notice the diff?
