How did you get ripped off?

Footlong Tuna $6.00
Bag of Chips $1.00
Medium Drink $1.25

Bring your own soda and forgo the chips.

Maybe he's read some of your posts and decided to charge you extra...

I remember in the 90s they used to have a deal after 4pm where you could get 3 footlong subs for $6.99 ... I would do that all the time, since 2 footlong subs makes a good lunch, and then I could eat the 3rd one a couple hours later for a snack.

I've not been to a Subway in a long, long time, and ideally I never will again. They're the bottom of the barrel as far as fast food goes. I'd rather have a crappy burger from McDonalds than anything on Subway's entire menu.

doesnt it scare you that they can sell you all of that for $2 and still make a profit?

Its like buying the beef burritos in the frozen isle - 10 for $2. Why would you subject your body to such filth?

It's all illusions... a big hefty loaf of bread with a few slices of meat and all the condiments to your hearts content does not a sammich make. A proper one is done in the kitchen by a woman at your behest.

I bought a few of these $4 footlongs (trio and MB) after someone in Hot deals posted about it. I'm bummed it's gone. I never thought to have them put the meat on the side and just get a veggie sub. Good call eits, it doesn't make sense for them to refuse this, considering it's the same cost for them (even less since I'd probably just tell them to hold the meat).

It's a SUB people, of course there's going to be a lot of bread, just like Jimmy Johns, Potbelly and Quiznos. Jeez Louise.

You don't have to make money on the item you are selling to turn a profit because of it. See: Loss Leader.

By that definition, most of OT will never have a proper sandwich.

Subway's food isn't as good as Quizno's or even Submarina, but won't go outta biz 'cause of their price deals (like the $5 footlongs) and abundant locations. money savings and convenience....always a big deal to ppl.

so, i went to subway yesterday. they have $2 6-inch subs... only for meatball marinara and cold cut trio (but not the veggie sub? huh? how does that make sense? anyway...)

so, i decided to stretch my dollar and get more.

i ordered the 6-inch meatball sub and told them to put the meatballs on the side. so, basically, they made me a 6-inch veggie sub (which isn't on the $2 menu) and i got a side of meatballs. all for $2. pretty awesome. too bad today is the last day they have that deal :/

Probably the most entertaining thing in Missourahhhhh

I love subway. There aren't really much other options for a filling $5 meal that has a range of nutrients from whole grains to a cornucopia of veggies, olives and olive oil with lots of omega 3s. I also stock up a bunch of avocadoes for 50c each at the local market, much cheaper than subway.

My fav sub... Italian BMT, pepperjack, extra toasted... spinach, tomatoes, extra olives, onions, pepperocinis, a good layer of oregano, drenched with oil and vinegar.
It's fucking loaded with flavor.

Bon appetit bitches.

I actually prefer subs that aren't loaded with a ton of lunchmeat. There is definitely a group of people out there that load on SO MUCH GOD DAMN LUNCHMEAT on their sandwiches, they think more and more and more is better. It's fucking disgusting. Anyway Subway could use an extra slice or two but overall decent.

Quiznos has a slimey old lunchmeat taste to it after it passes through the toaster hahaha. Subway can toast subs better than Quiznos probably because they don't make a big show and todo about it.

Pretty sure they're loss leaders at Subway. They're expecting to sell you the drink, on which they make a 1000-2000% margin.

And, really, bulk beef isn't that expensive. The meatball sub probably has 6oz of beef in it. I can buy beef at the grocery store for $1.99/lb. Assuming they pay the same (which they don't) that's only $0.75 worth of beef.

Same thing with the frozen burritos, but those usually have beans in them, too, which are even cheaper than ground beef.

Yeah their wheat bread is a lie... with enriched grains being the first ingredient. However, whole grains is still the third ingredient. They also have the honey oats bread.

But overall, my point still stands that subway offers a range of nutrients for $5.
To compare them with McD's is ludicrous.

When they buy it by the ton they pay $0.10 to your dollar.

Wow a sub for $2? That's pretty good. Here their deal is $5, and it's only very specific subs. After that you're paying around 8-9 bucks after taxes.

Not Subway-related but OP-related. Noticed you have "Chiropractic Physician" in your signature. So can dentists call themselves "Dental Physicians" or a psychologists "Psychological Physicians"? A bit of misrepresentation, don't you think?
