Stretching Your Dollar at Subway

so, i went to subway yesterday. they have $2 6-inch subs... only for meatball marinara and cold cut trio (but not the veggie sub? huh? how does that make sense? anyway...)

so, i decided to stretch my dollar and get more.

i ordered the 6-inch meatball sub and told them to put the meatballs on the side. so, basically, they made me a 6-inch veggie sub (which isn't on the $2 menu) and i got a side of meatballs. all for $2. pretty awesome. too bad today is the last day they have that deal :/

In Phoenix they had the trio, meatball and veggie advertised as $2, but that was looking at the drive-thru menu. Ate there pretty much everyday for lunch in December.

But for most of the ingredients other then who knows about the meat balls the stuff subway uses for the sandwiches he listed should be decent enough as they tend to use halfway fresh veggies and decent bread.

i still get my veggies in, so it's not filth, really. i get all the veggies except for the banana peppers and jalepenos.

They probably break even, a small drink is $1.49 which is like 90% profit so if even a percentage buys a drink Subway wins..

doh.. didnt know Dec was the $2 6inch special.
$2 for lunch for a cold cut trio would have been great.

Feb is $5 (almost) any footlong again.

Although I will admit that subway does suck at making sandwiches. If you just put on whatever they ask you to put on... it'll taste bland as hell. But if you know how to make a tasty sammich, they certainly have the ingredients for it.

veggie sub, typically...

honey oat, pepperjack cheese, lettuce, tomato, onion, green pepper, olives, spinach, pickles, cucumber, s&p, and a little chipotle sauce. very filling and you get a bunch of veggies to help fill you up.
