Stress Testing Utility

Hi Folks,
I built a new machine to install a ZFS NAS. It is booting up and all. But before i install ZFS i want to stress test the Memory, and each of the disks. I am planning to just put some old disks lying around to start. None of them had smart errors in the past, i was just upgrading for bigger size.

So I wanted to find out if there is any good toolset that is bootable to help do stress testing.

I downloaded stresslinux but it is not running memtest - says not found!

Not sure what mistake i did as i just booted from that iso image and said run the memtest when the image got booted from the UI.

So anything other than stresslinux?

Also what is good for HDD testing? There is no data on these disks that i need and so it is simply a matter of writing a couple of times the whole 2 TB and testing the disk. And i need to do it on a few disks and so need something that i can run without me being in front of the computer actively.

Thanks

Parted Magic is a bootable iso that has a lot of handy programs including GSmartControl. I guess they charge for it these days, but it's cheap.
