Stress test in crossfire or separate?

I got a couple used 7870's coming thats going in separate systems. I am wanting to stress test them for a hour or two to confirm they are fully working so me and the seller can finish the deal. To save time I thought I would crossfire them but is it possible one card could have problems that not show up during crossfire? Or is doing them separate the safest bet?

The systems they are going in won't be available for a couple weeks or I would just drop them in each system and stress that way. Thanks

I personally would want to stress them in the same configuration they will be ran in. Now the downside to this is if something goes awry you wont know which it is, but from the sound of it you are buying used as a pair and want them both to work anyway.

You can't get the same kind of load on both cards in crossfire, and in stress testing you want to be sure both are getting pushed hard to reveal potential issues. Better to just test them separate.
