"Stress" Interview

I had an interview yesterday I guess it was more of a "stress" interview. I waited for an hour and a half before the guy decided to interview me. Once I got in there I was suammarily punched in the balls repeatedly. "Did you work in High School?".........No.........."Oh so your parents paid for everything then, so did they buy you your car?" Um yeah................."So you havent worked the past two years, what have you been doing?" ..........I decided to stop working 20-30hrs a week and going to school full time, I wanted to focus soley on academics and graduate..........."Oh so how did you pay for that, did you get student loans?" Yeah I did.............."Oh that had to be expensive what like $15,000......$20,000?".............Um well actually it's a little more..........."So what do your parents do" etc etc etc......."So what did you do in HS......did you play sports?" I played sports but not organized thru the school system

In my opinion this line of questioning was borderline illegal, WTF do any of those questions have to do with the job. I paitently waited 1 1/2 hour only to get harrased.

How in the hell are they borderline illegal? You obviously haven't had profiling interviews before.

Profiling yes, berating me asking personal questions about family members and finances No. I know exactly what he was trying to get at........there are two ways to go about it.........he chose to take the hostile interviewer position.

The questions about work and paying for school show your dedication and time management skills. Using the hostile attitude he is able to see how you react and handle situations.

there are some questions they cannot ask you. Like, "Are you married?" These are personal questions that can affect whether you are hired because they will assume, oh you have a wife to take care of and your work wont be the first priority like that of a single persons.

two professors have confirmed this.
