Streets & Trips 2002 with GPS

my gps is working fine with other mapping program.

with MS Streets & Trips 2002, however, it seems the data is refreshing too slow. it seems my position on the screen is updated every 30 seconds. with my other map program, it updates practically every 5 seconds or so. are there any settings to tweak MS Streets & Trips 2002 ???

my dad uses streets & trips 2001 with his GPS. I'll ask him what the tweak was for the refresh rate. he had to do it because it was slow. I'll post it in here as soon as i find out what it is.
