Street sweeping: Can you get a ticket if you manage to move your car before the ticket person get to your car?

I never really had to worry about street sweeping because I always park in the driveway. But I parked my car on the street last night for once and woke up this morning to the sound of street sweeping. I bolted out and the street sweeper already passed up my car and a few others. The ticket truck that followed behind was handing out tickets but she didn't get to my car yet so I got in and moved my car. I don't think she saw me but if she did, would she be legally able to still give me a ticket?

I don't know your street sweeping laws, but I'd say yes you probably could get a ticket. My reasons:
1) You still broke the law.
2) If you do the same with a expired parking meter, you can still get ticketed in most cases if they catch up to you.

Given that street sweeping occurs between two times as stated on the street signs, the answer is a YES.
Most will follow the spirit of the law and allow you a "pass" but you may find one that is having a "bad hair day" and as such nails you after the fact.

Depends on the cop. I was standing by my car once when street sweepers came and i asked them nicely and they let me move my car...

Read my post about the worst parking ticket ever (search keyword). I got a ticket for street cleaning when I wasn't even parked. Its up to the ticket guy and most of them are brainless idiots.
