Holy crap I never seen so much rain in so little or more like never been on the way to work when it happen.

Its has been pouring heavy here in NY, I'm in Long Island, we even got small hail and a tornado warning which is unusual. I got a battery warning and break light on my car on a couple of occasions. I had to take my shoes and socks off and walk into work barefoot because the water was so high. Most of us have moved our cars next door because it has higher elevation.
Here are some pics for your enjoyment.

These are on the parkway, completely flooded.

I swear that stuff happens fairly often in NY, at least every time I go to visit my brother down there. I'm always having to detour through the city when it rains.

Yup. Today was crazy. My parent's basement is flooded right now. I left my house later than usual and avoided most of the flooding on my way to work.

Are they flooding right now too?

It was a joke. A Portlander posted about some thunder. Then another Portlander posted about some lightning. In other words, Portlanders like to post about typical weather occurrences and treat them like scientific anomalies.

Yea. I couldn't see out my windshield this morning. Is it still raining anywhere? It's stopped where I am for now. Still real sh!tty out though. I hope my GF's cousin makes it to my GF's house. She flew into Newark from LAX and had to rent a car to drive to her house. It was quicker to rent a car and drive ~ hour and 20 mins to NY where we are then to wait for a flight to go out around 4PM. Hope she doesn't have any problems.

My mom calls me at like 830am (we live 1 town apart) and said she had to turn her car around to go back home. Old Country Road was flooded bad.

I look out the window and only the apex of the street (middle) is not under water - it was driveable here.

GJ on the pics btw.

Yes it still raining, Im in Suffolk county right now by Brentwood. My GF got stuck on the Wantagh parkway for an hour with no movement at all. She said people started to drive on the grass going the wrong way.
