i was just wondering if anyone here has tried or uses StreamMyGame.

it seems like it could come in handy since it might keep me from needing to upgrade my htpc just to play newer games on it.

Do I want other people gaming on my rig? No.
Do I want to stream video of other people playing games? No.
Do I want to watch delayed video of me gaming on someone else's rig? No.

I mean, come on... This is basically remote desktoping other people's computers for games, so there's going to be a significant delay between when you push a button and when you see the game react to said button push.

I call shens/bullshit/fake company.

Access to privileged technical support No

So they want you to pay monthly too. Fuck that. And I can't even look at the forums without registering.

i don't think the first four things you listed are required and the fee is yearly, not monthly.

if it's done properly (for a lan), there doesn't need to be lag between the keypress and the games reaction. i don't think i have that issue even with realVNC.

the only odd thing is the required internet connection, but that's probably just for management. if your streaming within a lan, i would hope that it's not sending all that crap over the internet just to end up back in the same house.

If you were at a LAN, you could just sit down on the host machine and play, instead of remoting it.

It's basically remote desktop except for games. Useless, and it opens your comp to all sorts of possible access.

Yeah, really bad idea. All depends on your latency, which in most cases will make game unplayable. Plus you can't run OpenGL remotely can you, I know you can't over RDP, but maybe VNC can.
