Streaming Video Screen size question?

No matter whick video player I use, the screen is too small. If I increase the screen size, then the picture is blurred. When I went with a cable modem, I thought that I would be able to view streams clearly at or about full screen size. I have a 16mb 3dfx Voodoo 2000 video card. Would upgrading to a newer card with more memory let me view streaming video clearly in a larger frame? Thanks in advance.

The resolution of the stream is set by the creator/web site etc... You can change the physical size but it will become pixelated if the original resolution is smaller.
