Fixed it everythings working fine. The player was thinking I had a 56k connection for some reason. thanks for the help!!

Recently I've noticed some streaming videos do not work properly on my computer. I can hear the sound, but the video doesn't show up.

Ok some further info I just remebered. The problem first arose when I tried to stream This Video. I vaugly remeber a window popping up asking somthing like if I should allow a .exe change some security setting. Being my distrustful self I clicked no and was unable to watch the vid.

I REALLY don't want to format. I've finally got XP all nice and setup how I like it....not to mention backing up the 90gigs worth of data would be a BIATCH :(

try downloading some codecs, as it sounds like a codec error... try downloading the newest divx codecs

The video you've linked to is using the Windows Media Video V8 codec. Try checking the windows update site to see if they have additional codecs to download. You'll probably need windows media player 7.1 or higher as well.

Only one thing left to do: Reformat and reinstall everything! :p

Actually, what I'd try next is to remove the video codecs from the device manager. Then you'll have to reinstall all the video codecs you need. A re-installation of Windows Media Player may be required as well. Warning: I've never tried doing this, so I don't know if it will actually help or make things worse. It's probably gonna be a pain in the ass, but it might be better than the alternative.

Anybody else have some ideas?
