Streaming video issues

I'm on a short vacation at my grandparents. Today I decided to get out my laptop and catch up on Top Gear on Youtube..

Anyway, i keep getting horrible streaming issues. So i decided to try Hulu, still getting constant streaming issues. Both sites buffer video after about 3-4 seconds, play for about 5 seconds, and then buffer again. Repeat.

Its not an internet issue (Verizon FIOS) and streaming works fine on my brothers laptop.
Im using a Sony Vaio FW laptop, worked great yesterday in a Hotel.. is there something I need to do to make it work better?

Thanks for the tips.

Try connecting directly to the modem and see if you have streaming issues. Might be your browser.

I dont have an ethernet cable that i can get to.. Ive tried it in Google Chrome, FF3, and IE. All the same result. Kinda weird..

Try running a speed test on your grandparents pc, then on your laptop. At like speedtest.net

Maybe the WIFI is getting to much noise. Go in the router settings & select either channel 1 or 11 if set on 6 and run the speed test on your laptop again. See if that improves it.
