streaming to xbox via wireless question

Right now I have everything wired, but I am going to be without wires soon. (all wireless by force not by choice). So i have a desktop with all my media stored on it. I have an xbox frontend running xbmc. Right now they are wired so running smooth at 100mbps. Now i have to go wireless and need suggestions. I am wondering what i could use. Will the streaming still be smooth if i use 802.11b or would it be best to use 802.11g. Also If i should use 802.11g is there any better options than a wireless ethernet bridge for the xbox (aka cheaper i looked at linksys g ethernet bridges on ebay and they go for 50-80 bucks each). Any suggestions are appreciated.
