We have a Samsung smart TV (and a couple networked BluRay players) in the house, and I am trying to set up streaming from a HD that I attached to a router on the LAN to the TV. When Using PCs (or my phone), I can readily navigate to the HD and open any of the videos in the video folder.

My TV is using Samsung Allshare, which is a DLNA client, and I am trying to do one of two things

1) Pull up a video from my HD and push it to the TV or bluray player as a rendering device

- Problem in this instance is that my other devices cannot see the TV as a rendering client. Am I missing some permissions that I have to set up to see the TV or blu ray player as a "send to" target in the software on my PC/Phone?

2) Use the TV's capabilities to navigate to the HD and play videos (Music, pictures).

Though the TV and BruRau player can see the HD, they are not able to identify the videos in the video folder or pictures in the picture folder. In fact the videos that they player does detect are the ones that I have deleted. How do I clean up the HD to force the TV to see the appropriate folders? Do I need to be very explicit turning on permissions at the folder level?

Thanks,

Marc
