Stream vs Download WHS 2011 Remote Desktop

I was out of town over the weekend and wanted to watch a movie I had on my WHS machine. Logged in via the internet @ xxx.homeserver.com and was able to access my server, but I only had the option to download the movie. So I opened up the launchpad and tried using the remote access and when I entered my name and pw it said the server was either not connected to the network or the server is offline.

I know the server was on because I could access my files on it via the homeserver site after logging in there so I'm not sure what I need to do at this point. Within my local network at home, everything is working flawlessly. I just want to be able to stream a movie over the internet rather than download it when I'm out of town. Is there some kind of add-in or setting I'm missing?

It sounds like you need to open up some ports on your router. I don't remember what port you need open for media streaming but for RDP you need TCP 4125 open.

And you will not want to view video over RDP.
