Stream SD/HD content to Xbox

I just discovered tversity, which is actually a pretty good media server.

It "converts" on-the-fly w/ Xbox compatibe format, so i can stream whatever format from the PC to the Xbox, Divx, Xvid etc..etc...
They even claim it can "upconvert" by setting the resolution.

No i got curios about media-servers, and in general in regards to SD/HD streaming to our Xbox, especially with a new HDTV set coming!

We also have an external USB "media HD" which has a media-player integrated, but this hardware-media player can not read MKV and some more advanced codecs, only DIVX, Xvid etc.. So i use the "multimedia box" only as external HD with videos on it...connected to the PC...and then stream everything with tversity to the Xbox.

My question now is..are there better solutions, and what is in general the best way to get SD/HD content from the PC ---> HDTV set?

1) Connect TV directly to PC, using powerdvd etc... ?
2) Streaming solution using tversity or any other similar software?
Tversity, Mezzmo, Nero Media Home ???
