Stray Cats

I found a great apartment, but there's one issue: stray cats. The tenant there now stated that the cats tend to scratch her car up when they hang out on it's roof/hood/trunk. Is there a number to call that catch stray animals?

I want a humane resolution to this problem, short of poisoning/shooting them. I want to leave my security deposit for this place!

you can get a trap for them. A deposit for it is required but you get that back when you return it. You can call the local shelter, but your You can also call the town's animal control center. But I dont know what will happen to the cats once they get them.

Thanks for the tip! I'll call the local shelter.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think cat's claws can scratch car paint. I've had cats on my Mustang before, and I used to cringe as they slid off with their claws out, but I never saw any visible scratches. Aren't cat's claws essentially as hard as human fingernails, just sharper?

The girl's car had tons of scratches on her BLACK paint. She said that it was from the cats. She started parking on the street because of this. That defeats the purpose of the "off-street" parking feature of this apartment though.

That's what I thought too heheh...Brain Setzer is one of my favorite guitarists. Also, got to admire a guy that has a cow lick yet still styles his hair.

BTW- You could always get a Ford SportKa (check out the cat clip on the bottom of the page: Snopes

Yep.

Cats will leave paw prints, but they aren't going to scratch the paint up, unless it's mangy and has sticks and rocks stuck to it or something.

Am I the only one that thought this?

Ooo-ooo-ooo-ooo
Ooo-ooo-ooo-ooo
Ooo-ooo-ooo-ooo
Black and orange stray cat sittin on a fence
Ain't got enough dough to pay the rent
I'm flat broke but I don't care
I strut right by with my tail in the air

Stray cat strut I'm-a (ladies cat)
Feline casanova hey man that's that
Get a shoe thrown at me from a mean ole man
Get my dinner from a garbage can

Meow

I don't bother chasing mice around, oh-no
I slink down the alley, lookin for a fight
Howlin to the moonlight on a summer night
Singin the blues while the lady cats cry
Wild stray cat you're a real gone guy
I wish I could be as carefree and wild
But I got cat class and I got cat a style

Gotcha. I still think it might have been something else..scratches show really easy in black paint. I wonder if the cats were on it when it was sitting in hot sun? A color like black in the hot sun would get quite hot, and make the clear coat get much softer, alowing the claws to scratch it... Or even if the cars surface already had sand or grit on it that the cats were scratching the car up with when they walked on it?

I dunno, but that and the fact that there's no washer/dryer are the only 2 things holding me back from putting a deposit on the place. I'll make my decision tonight.
