Strategy for cheap storage of infrequently-accessed files?

I host a lot of photos and videos for my business. These files get accessed a few times during the first week or so after they've been uploaded, but then they pretty much go idle after that... except for when they sometimes need to be downloaded again a couple months or more down the line.

I currently use Amazon S3 and to minimize costs I have everything get automatically moved to Glacier after 2 weeks.

It is a pain in the ass to manually restore a file from Glacier to S3, and the wait time of several hours for the restoration to complete sucks as well.

Are there any other hosting options, or is this already the cheapest method?

I've used https://www.backblaze.com/b2/cloud-storage-pricing.html before as an off-site backup repository and it's .002 cents/GB cheaper than Glacier for storage. You'll have to work out the math on the transfer costs.

Most of the cloud storage providers are pretty competitive in pricing, you just need to find one that allows you the access patterns you need.
