Jesus, I agree, that's the most confusing, senseless review ever.
FYI I bought the logitech cordless optical mouse a couple months ago for $70. I am VERY happy with it. It *does* eat batteries (I think a new set averages maybe 3 weeks) but I use my computer for hours a day. My previous mouse (the logitech "normal" cordless one) wasn't nearly as battery hungry, but as with all balled mice it tended to act up from time to time. So far this optical one has been great, and still no cords. It even survived being flung off my desk the other day when lightning struck the apartment building next to mine. (it didn't jump off on it's own, I freaked out and winged it across the room as a reflex action hehehehe)
