Strange (yet slight) decrease in performance...

Well, I had my 6600GT hooked up to my PSU with the molex splitter it came with. I got around 7500 on 3dmark03 and 3100 on 05...i had also ordered a molex extender in case the molex splitter wasn't long enough

So, i hooked up the molex extender today, and noticed my 3dmark scores went from 7500 to 7422 and from 3100 to 3080...

ok, not much of a difference, but i also noticed my temp is running about 1 degree more then usuall.

could this be my molex extender? i have not changed drivers since my 7500/3100 scores and they are 71.90 drivers.

Set up:
P4 2.8ghz HT (800mhz fsb)
512mb pc2700 ram
120gb HDD
300watt PSU (i know i know...but its a good one)

yeah, its pretty slight, but i get worried about little things...

are you sure you're not running any extra programs that you werent when you originally ran them? maybe your av was doing an update while you were running them this time?

Those numbers are within the variance of any system, just run the benchmark three times in a row, then average, that will give you a pretty accurate score.

it went down each time i tested 🙁

No worries now, just got the 76.10 drivers...went back up to 7650-7700 on 3dmark 03

Benchmark scores tend to fluctuate based on backround applications and so-forth. Try rebooting then running your favorite benchmark 🙂
