Strange XP boot error

So I get home and push the power button and make myself a drink. Come back and I'm on the login screen, no big deal. I go and click on my name and nothing happens. Hmm this is strange I thought to myself. So I keep clicking like that's going to make a difference and then the damn pc speaker starts beeping at me. So I press the restart button and think "WTF is this crap". Computer gets to the login screen again but this time I can't move the mouse and if I click I get the pc speaker again. Now i'm starting to get pissed.... Hold the power button until the comp shuts off... press power again to start the computer and I get into windows normally? My first thought is off to AT to post! Any ideas on what that was about?

Right-click My Computer, choose Manage, and peruse the Event Viewer logs. See anything that coincides with your log-in time and seems relevant?
