Strange wireless problem. Antenna?

Well, I am using a Netgear 802.11g adapter and a Netgear firewall router/AP. Problem is, I seem to connect fine with to the router, but only at 12mbps max theoretical max (rather than something normal, like 36, 48, or 54). Not only that, but the router is not sending any information back to the adapter. So, basically, I connect, but in reality cannot access anything through the router (files, internet, etc...). My system with adapter does not even show up on the 'devices connected list' in the router control panel.

What makes me upset is, this worked perfectly yesterday. I simply adjusted the antenna today, and after I tried to bring them back to the old positions, the problem persists. I have tried reinstalling the wireless adapter drivers, trying with WEP encryption disabled, rebooting and resetting the router.

maybe you now have some interference that wasn't originally there such as a neighbor's wireless network.
