my wifi connection always starts up as "unavailable". repairing doesn't work but disabling it then reenabling it works, every time.

there is also a noticable delay (~ 1 min) when i start windows xp (stuck at loading user settings)

card is Dlink DWL G510, router is netgear wrg614v4. latest drivers, using windows xp configuration tool instead of the dlink one (it doesn't support WPA)

anybody know what's wrong?

Try this... It worked for me until i hated using WiFi and went back to hardwire...

go to:
start menu>
control panel>
administrative tools>
services>
scroll to the bottom and double click on "wireless zero config" and click disabled, stop.

My wireless was starting... but it kept dropping me, then i couldnt reconnect until i did this.
