strange Wi2k error message at startup

When I first startup Windows I get a dialogue box that says
"Printhood is a system folder needed by the operating system and connot be deleted"

There is also the following error message in Event Viewer for the same time frame.
Source: i8042prtand if you go into the properties it says Exceeded the allowable number of retries (configurable via the registry) on device.

Anyone ever seen this before and can tell be what it is?
