I don't suppose this Folding@Home thing is all that unstable, is it? I installed this on my server, a P3 ~750 (don't remember exactly). It ran just fine so I went to bed. Got up this morning and the computer was OFF. There have been ZERO instability issues since the install (Win2k). When I turned on the computer, I got a crapload of video issues. The first screen that shows the video card information is all fvcked up. Virtical red and black lines alternate across the screen with pink Ms all over the place. Then when it posts and is counting up the ram, the red lines change to thin gray lines and the Ms go away. The display gets more and more fvcked up as it sits. Windows does not even load, for all I know. If I keep hitting the reset button, I might get a stable boot once in every ten or fifteen attempts. However, after being up for a few minutes, the screen suddenly gets all fvcked up again and it crashes.

Because it starts fvcked up on the very first screen showing the vidcard's stats, methinks it's a dying videocard. But the card is brand new! Granted it's a GF2MX400, but I'm not playing any games on it at all - it's not being pushed to it's limits at all. And the fact that it boots properly at random confuses me.

WTF is going on?

My old visiontek Ti4200 has EXACTLY the same symptoms. Video corruption on the video bios just like you have. Tried in two PCs with the same result. Had to RMA it.

Sorry to say but that sounds like a bad card to me. New or used, the symptoms are always the same.
Good luck!
