Strange video problem with 9800 pro

I just picked up a 9800 pro and installed the latest drivers, and I'm having a strange problem with video playback. This applies to wmv and mpeg, possibly more. I get strange blue and red dots that appear and disappear, sometimes flickering for a few seconds in seemingly random locations in whatever video im playing. It happens much more often with some files, and seems to be more prevalent when the picture is dark, but it happens at least a small bit in almost everything. Has anyone else experienced this or had a similar problem?

Sounds like the core is overheating ...

Does the 9800pro have the 'shim problem' ...?

I'd check under the HSF unit.
... and make sure the thermal paste is applied properly and the unit
is attached good.

I'm not familiar with the 'shim problem' but I'm not experiencing any problems with games or anything. The card is stock, I haven't played with the HSF at all.
