Strange user account

I was adding a user account to my XP Pro machine. When I oped up the user account window I found a user account that was password protected but that I never set up. It was named ASP.NET. Anyone know what this is? Should I be scared?

That's standard. I don't remember if it comes with SP2 or with the .NET framework or maybe something else, but you can safely delete it.

the standard account should be named ASPNET, not ASP.NET are you sure it was ASP.NET?
