Strange USB (Illuminated) keyboard behavior on computer wake up

OK this is weird..

Whenever my computer comes out of sleep I have to wait maybe 20 seconds before I can use the keyboard. It is a bit like during boot up when the keyboard illumination comes on briefly and then goes out and back on, at which point it is responsive and works.

My keyboard is a Logitech Illuminated USB keyboard. Plugged directly into the mainboard USB port, I haven't tried swapping ports to another one yet? Maybe I'll do that and report back

I am wondering if it could be my power supply going bad, but I have no other symptoms.


My system is a little old:

Asus M2N-E about 4 years old
Power supply is about the same age, it's a good quality 460w unit
CPU was upgraded recently to AMD Phenom II X4 925 95w
I also recently upgraded ram from 6gb to 8gb

Any ideas?

Duh, I answered my own question;

I checked "allow this device to wake the computer" in device manager and prbolem went away

My USB keyboard does the same. Appears to be just the computer turning off the USB controller at verious states of play. Turning on all the settings related to USB (ie: usb support ect) and the issue went away. I noticed it as when the keyboard went off, so did the mouse's tracking light
