Strange thing happened while out looking at Christmas lights

One of the neighborhoods goes all out with lights, so I and a few other friends were walking through the neighborhood admiring the decorations. There were some kids in the back of a truck driving by wishing people a Merry Christmas. My friend yelled back

"Happy Hanukkah!"

To which the child (maybe 7 or 8 years old), as the truck was driving away, replied

"You're Jewish, you don't believe in God!"

😕

religion is absurd.

not really;or not more so than many other things.

like what? quantum physics?

like horoscope, like countries going to war for a soccer match, like people being interested in celebrities, like the war in iraq etc.

Oh NOES...a Jew looking at X-mas lights...will Gawd smite him and burn his eyes out of his head for the sacrilege? 😛

I had a guy ask me the other day, "Who are the Jews? Are they Catholic?" Then I found out that telling someone who Jews are is more complicated than I thought.

No it's not. They came before Catholics and don't believe that Jesus is the son of God. Their holy book is the Tanakh (ie the Old Testament).

Was that so hard?

Like having the government wipe your ass for you with handouts? Like raising taxes to keep welfare addicts voting for you? Like trying to legalize culturally lacking illegal immigrants? Yeah, that's all absurd. That's what being a liberal is: being absurd.

And all this time, I thought that was the Mormons...

Hehe, reminds me of Stolen Summer

It was a nice movie - this little smart-ass kid befriends a rabbi's ailing son for the sole purpose of converting him to Catholicism because, "He's sick and he deserves a chance to go to heaven." Pretty heartwarming and cute. 😀

You forgot to tell the kids that they can shapeshift.

You must have a very sad little trailer.

If you give me your address, I'll send you a shiny new roll of tin foil for Christma...ah wait, Holiday time. Why must everything become an Us vs. Them scenario? Is your life that bad that you have to blame all of your problems on a whole group of people.

There's another group of people who did that my friend. I'd show you the video clips but they're all in German.

Lets not argue.

Everyone on this earth is different and therefore have different tastes, values, and beliefs. No one is right, no one is wrong. 🙂

However, it was pretty untasteful of those kids to say that. But, then again, they were just kids.
