Strange tags on mouseover

I recently found a tag that appears when I hover the mouse over the "Mail" link on Yahoo. The subsequent dropdown with a link to sign in also has a strange tag (see images). I suspect it is a a cookie or some sort because they dissappear once I purge IE. I am going through some of my frequently visited sites to isolate the culprit. I also have not noticed this on Opera and have not tried this on Firefox.

Does anyone know what this is or how it got on there?

I think that was IT!

verified that when I turned Google translate on the tags appears; it disappears when I turned the translator off.
