I have had my system running for about 10 months under windows 2000 without a problem, but just this week it has been restarting itself/ giving me a BSOD with "INACCESSABLE BOOT DEVICE" in it. Finally it got to the point where the computer wouldn't make it to the login screen. I was fairly sure some hardware went bad, so the first thing I checked and switched was my OS HDD..no dice. Let me list my computer info before i continue:
Supermicro ATX SC-750a case, 6 fans minus psu and cpu
AMD Athlon Slot-A 800MHZ
Abit KA7-100 raid mobo
1GB PC133 MWave.com ram
Toshiba DVD-ROM on ata33 primary
HP9100i CDR/RW on ata33 slave
Maxtor 40GB 7200rpm on ata100+ primary
Maxtor 80GB 5400rpm on ata100+ slave
AGP:
-GeForce2 GTS
PCI:
-SoundBlaster Live XGamer 5.1
-Netgear FA311 NIC
-Pinnacle Systems, Miro DC50 Capture Card
I had previous problems with a Linksys LNE100TX card and win2000, which involved hanging @ startup or installation. Obviously solved by changing the NIC out, but now I have no clue as to what is causing my system to reboot itself on startup, even with old drives and old dvd-rom unplugged (figured one of these might have died). I have just the 40gb maxtor, hp cdrw and my pci/agp cards hooked up now and my system still randomly reboots after the bios screen and in various stages of the win2000 installation. This has been killing me for a week now, if anyone has any ideas or suggestions, please post them!
