Strange "sweeping" sound.

My PC has developed a strange noise today. I turned it off to verify that it is in fact the PC causing it.

It sounds like someone sweeping the sidewalk outside my window, except it's coming from my PC (really!)

I'm roughly guessing that it might be one of the fans, but this Rosewill Blackhawk case is only a few months old (3-4 maybe).

I have two Gigabyte dual-fan Windforce GTX460 cards.

I am running a primary SSD, with a secondary HD.

It's not the HD, that I can tell.

So as best I can figure, it's the video cards, or the case fans, or perhaps the CPU fan (OCZ Vendetta, recently installed as well).

The video cards have been basically silent, well, the whole PC was nearly silent.

Edit: Hmm, slid the PC out of the cubby-hole in my desk, and now it doesn't appear to be making the sound.

Could it have something to do with the fact that it was angled down slightly (rear feet on the cubby-hole floor, front feet hangout down in front)? Perhaps putting the top fan off-balance?

Or some sort of case vibration against the cubby-hole?

At least it doesn't seem like one of the fans are failing.

Obviously you need some case filters so the little gnomes inside don't need to sweep up all the dust :hmm:
