Strange Sprint PCS Bill I got

I accidentally double paid last month's bill.

I get this months and it says you owe -$1.56. If you do not pay this amount by Sept. 22, you will owe us $2.26.

you have to pay them because they will charge you a late fee. What I dont understand is how -ve * +ve value = +ve?? If they charge you late fee, the will owe you more, right?
