Strange Speedfan Voltage Measurements

When I run Speedfan on my parents computer, which is several years old, it says that the +12V is actually at 6.63 Volts. I have noticed that it is a very touchy computer, and any 3d heavy application crashes it almost instantly. Could the power supply be the problem? It's a crappy 410w supply that came with it.

Right now it has:

9700 Pro
P4 2.66Ghz, don't know what core it is, it's back from when HT just came out.
512 RDRAM

and some other unimportant things.

I have an old 300W Antec supply lying around. Should I put that one in to replace the current one or is Speedfan incorrect?

Thanks

Please take the time to read the PSU forum!!

All software measurements of PSU voltagte are not accurate!

To properly test voltage you should go out and get your self a voltage meter!

Peace!!

No, not accurate. Not even close. If your 12V was at 6.63V then your PC wouldn't be running ;)
